The Caudon Large Colony Bat Box provides ample habitat for large colonies of various British bat species such as Noctule (Nyctalus noctula), Nathusius` Pipistrelle (Pipistrellus nathusii) and Common Long-eared Bat (Plecotus auritus).

Equivalent to a 1FS Bat Box

The 3 internal baffles, the front & back plates, and roof are all textured with a grooved surface to provide a large variety of hanging spaces. Bats are highly sociable, and this box can accommodate large numbers as well as providing maternity space for rearing young. Can typically accommodate 70-100 pipistrelle bats with up to 180 recorded in similar sized roost spaces.

A grooved, textured landing plate aids take up of bats through the rear/bottom entrance and a front exit hole allows for a clear flight path from the chamber. Both roof and floor panels are removable to allow for cleaning and inspection. The precision engineered design ensures close fitting joins to eliminate light and draft leaks.

Each box comes with a mounting plate for ease of installation, minimising installation time and therefore reducing project costs where a large number are to be installed.

Direct from the sustainably managed forests of Finland, this spruce plywood is modified by an innovative vacuum treatment that renders the entire panel exceptionally durable whilst remaining lightweight and with exceptional dimensional stability. It has excellent rain resistance qualities as well as weather and boil proof bonding while still allowing water vapour to evaporate.
