Description

This Caudon® Bat Box is particularly suited to woodland and tree dwelling bat species such as the Noctule and rare Bechstein Bat.

The slightly larger capacity than the Caudon General Purpose Bat Box houses 2 internal grooved baffles to provide a greater surface area of hanging space. The internal walls are also textured with grooves. A grooved landing strip on the rear entrance hole helps to encourage bat entry and the lower positioned exit hole helps to maintain a more enclosed internal chamber. The CNC engineered design ensures close fitting joins to eliminate light and draft leaks.

Equivalent to a 2FN Bat Box

Each box comes with a mounting plate for easy fixing, minimising installation time and therefore reducing project costs where a large number are to be installed.

Mounting Recommendations:

• Should be exposed to natural sunlight for at least part of the day, so facing SE, S, SW
• If mounting several boxes in an area, vary the angle slightly between each one.
• Mount at least 4m above ground level.
• Away from artificial light sources if possible.
• Sheltered from strong winds.
