Its high strength and rigid construction enables it to be installed as a stand-alone fence that sits directly on the ground. This makes it ideal for installing an amphibian or newt fence across hard standing surfaces. This systems main designed purpose is for creating a one way fence system where earth is backfilled up to the top edge at the back of the panels to create a step in the landscape that cannot be breached by amphibians, other wildlife species, or even vehicles in one direction. This makes it ideal for installing on road projects or similar where it is necessary to prevent amphibian traffic on a permanent basis with a system that compliments the landscape. Amphibian traffic can then be directed to safe habitat or to an amphibian tunnel ensuring a safe passage across a road or similar hazard. Other system components are available to create internal and external curves or to accommodate changes in gradient. The ACO Amphibian Guide Fence units are manufactured from a high grade polymer concrete that offers high compression and flex strength, high chemical resistance and zero water penetration. Each Guide Fence Panel incorporates a top lip and one half way down the panel face to ensure maximum amphibian protection. This system can also be installed as a permanent unobtrusive landscape feature to prevent vehicular access for traffic control or security purposes by creating a 450mm high vertical step in the ground surface.
