Manthorpe Dual Swift Brick

The Manthorpe Swift Brick has been developed in conjunction with house builders, the RSPB & Action for Swifts to provide integrated nesting spaces for swifts and improving the biodiversity of built environments. 

These units are designed to be built into the outer brickwork course of cavity walled housing, replacing 2 standard bricks. The compact design allows it to be installed in the brickwork of narrower cavity walls, down to a gap of 50mm, and without compromising on internal habitat space. The unit can also be retro-fitted to existing walls as well being laid directly into the brickwork of new build housing during construction.

As well as brick matched facing slips to blend into surrounding brickwork, the unit can be hidden behind rendered walls with only the small entrance hold showing. This requires the fitting of a perforated facing slip that facilitates the adhesion of any applied render compound. A render bung is supplied to ensure that the entrance hole is left clear when the render (perforated) facing slips are chosen.
